Things We Lost In The Fire

I watched this movie the other night.  Benecio Del Toro is truly captivating.  I think it's Halle Berry's best work in quite some time.  It's actually one of the best movies I've seen in the past few years.  I was moved in so many ways.  Rent it.  Watch it.  Let me know what you think.

Fun, but not as good as number one..

                    

My hubby and I had gift certificates for the Fandango Galaxy Theatre burning a hole in our pockets, so we headed to see National Treasure 2 the other afternoon. The hot buttered popcorn and hot tamales were yummy, and I quite enjoyed the company, but it's definitely not as good as the first one, just sayin...

Dan In Real Life...

I just got back from watching this movie, and I have to say it's one of my new favorites!  A truly heartwarming romantic comedy about life, love, family, and how "messy" they can sometimes be.  I highly recommend this one.  It's a perfect "date movie".  Go see it, and tell me what you think!

August in November?

Have you ever sat in a movie theater and bawled your eyes out during a PREVIEW?  Well, that's exactly what happened about a month ago when I first saw the preview for August Rush. Here's the plot according to Internet Movie Database:

"August Rush" tells the story of a charismatic young Irish guitarist (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) and a sheltered young cellist (Keri Russell) who have a chance encounter one magical night above New York's Washington Square, but are soon torn apart, leaving in their wake an infant, August Rush, orphaned by circumstance. Now performing on the streets of New York and cared for by a mysterious stranger (Robin Williams), August (Freddie Highmore) uses his remarkable musical talent to seek the parents from whom he was separated at birth."

Absolutely No Reservations!

I saw the new movie "No Reservations" for the second time today and I have to say that I highly recommend it.  ( I'm a total sucker for a romantic dramedy) I wouldn't normally see a movie twice in theaters, but I went with my husband the first time, and I really wanted to check out the new theater in Carson City today with my daughters, so we went again.  I cried just as much as I did the first time.  Besides being absolutely drop dead gorgeous, Catherine Zeta-Jones does a great job. Aaron Eckart is totally adorable.  Abigail Breslin was perfect, and really broke my heart when she played the emotional scenes.  If you like romantic, feel good movies, you will love this one!!  Guys, takes your wives and earn some extra points!

The Nativity Story

Our family went to see "The Nativity Story" last week.  It is a great film for the whole family.  It is a beautiful love story in more ways than one.  I love the way it portrays Joseph as a selfless and loving companion to Mary.  Equally interesting is seeing Mary as a somewhat headstrong, independent girl learning to trust God in his choice of Joseph for her, and trusting completely in Him as she learns that she will give birth to a Savior.  I was impressed by the biblical accuracy of the movie.  My favorite thing about the movie is feeling Mary and Joseph's HUMANITY.  Seeing how they must've struggled with things that we still struggle with today, such as self doubt and trying to do the right thing.  I highly recommend this sweet and touching movie for adults and childen alike.
